VISIBLE NODE STATUS

Three lights. One glance.

The compact module turns node activity into a simple visual language that remains useful across the room.

What the lights mean

Immediate status of ASL—without another screen.

Each installer connects AllStarLink activity to a compatible LowVoltageLabs three-light module while accounting for the GPIO differences among the supported boards and distributions.

Red

ASL is sending audio or traffic (TX).

Yellow

ASL is receiving audio or traffic (RX).

Green

Heartbeat—ASL is running but idle.

Why traffic LEDs?

The LEDs on your RF interface, such as an SA818 board, or on a radioless UCI interface show the status of that device. The separate traffic-light display shows whether your node’s ASL application is running, transmitting, receiving, or idle.

See it operate

Traffic LEDs for an AllStarLink node.

The demonstration shows the three-state display responding during actual node operation.

Do not interchange these packages. Board generations and node distributions can use different GPIO handling.

Select the matching platform, review its included instructions, verify the wiring, and install only after the underlying node works correctly.

Before connecting GPIO

Connect once.

A few extra minutes with the wiring diagram can save the board.
