ASL3, AllScan, Allmon3 & Supermon 8+on the Orange Pi Zero2W
The tiny Zero2W gains the ports a practical node needs from its 24-pin expansion HAT—then becomes a complete, hardened AllStarLink system that another operator can reproduce.
The expansion HAT changes what this little board can do.
Wired Ethernet and USB-A turn the compact Zero2W into a stable platform for ASL3, its UCI80 interface, and three web dashboards.
The hardware from four angles
See how the Zero2W and its expansion HAT become one compact node.
These views show the stacked boards, the added wired connections, and the exact 24-pin expansion HAT used in the completed build.
01
The Zero2W above the HAT
The compact computer mounts directly over the 24-pin expansion board, keeping the complete assembly small.
02
A true two-board stack
Brass standoffs expose the layered construction and leave room for cabling, cooling, and service.
03
The ports that make it practical
The expansion HAT supplies wired Ethernet and USB-A connections for a reliable node and its UCI interface.

Project overview
Orange Pi Zero 2W
A completed Orange Pi Zero2W node built around its USB-A and Ethernet expansion HAT, with ASL3, three working dashboards, a UCI80 interface, and a resumable guided installer.
FULL DUPLEX
Transmit and receive at the same time.
The USB communications interface supports simultaneous transmit and receive operation, making this a true full-duplex AllStarLink node—not merely a conventional simplex hotspot.
01
What was proven
Node 592712 registered and operational
Asterisk, Apache, and Allmon3 active
AllScan, Allmon3, and Supermon 8+ working
PTT/COS loop and Parrot 55553 passed
Legacy allstar-public access disabled
Reboot persistence and final backup completed
02
What the project includes
Blank microSD card preparation
Board, HAT, and operating-system preflight
Eight resumable installer stages
SimpleUSB tuning checkpoints
Dashboard account setup
IAX hardening and final backup
Known limitations
Documented—not hidden.
Use the 24-pin USB-A and Ethernet expansion HAT shown in this build
Keep dashboards and SSH on a trusted LAN or VPN
UCI80 device path depends on the physical USB socket
RF deviation still requires suitable test equipment
